New Kansas City Storage Units Near Brookside
Beyond Self Storage at Brookside officially opened its doors for business on Friday, June 19. Beyond’s climate control drive-thru lane is accentuated by their signature pop of teal and shows off the new development on the Troost Corridor. The three-story facility boasts 920 storage units and is located at the corner of 67th St and Troost Ave.
Beyond Opens Location No. 21
This is the 21st location opening for Beyond, and the second in the Kansas City market. The store boasts a drive-thru loading and unloading zone, complimentary carts and dollies, controlled access security features, as well as digital video security recording and motion lights. Packing and moving supplies are also popular add-on items; inventory includes boxes, locks, and an assortment of protective covers. With an agreement, customers also receive complimentary WiFi and conference room usage—convenient for business professionals, students, retirees, and everyone in between.
Living Through our Core Values
What truly sets Beyond Self Storage apart from other self-storage companies (aside from their mascot, “Bubble Ben,” who is rapidly growing in popularity) is their philosophy to operate by a set of Core Values that encourages their team members to “Take Ownership” over their business, strive to “Do the Right Thing Every Time,” and to “Live Generously” by finding ways to infuse their brand within the community and search for avenues to give back. These values set the tone for hiring and business operations to make Beyond Self Storage a stand-out option for storage solutions.
Construction began on the building in October of 2019 and the final result was shown off to investors, customers, and community members with a “Pop-In” party last Friday afternoon. Amongst the attendees was Sean Ackerson, Executive Director of the Southtown Council, an organization that strives to facilitate partnerships among the businesses in the area to promote economic development and community growth. “The Southtown Council and Troost Avenue CID are excited to see the new Beyond Self Storage open—we really appreciate NorthPoint Development’s investment in the Troost Avenue District,” said Ackerson. “In addition to meeting residential storage needs, the facility will serve as an incubator for new and expanding businesses locating or doing business in the area. Based on what we saw on our tour and the units rented on opening day, anyone interested better reach out soon before the units are all gone!”
Beyond’s Director of Marketing, Lara Anderson, is especially excited about this location’s opening. “It’s always a thrill to open in a new market and introduce another area of the country to Beyond Self Storage, but this project holds a special place in our hearts. Not only are we expanding within our hometown, but we also have a real opportunity to operate in an upcoming area and contribute to the growth of Southtown as a great place to live, work and do business.” Beyond Self Storage also operates a facility in Lenexa, KS, the inaugural location for the company.
